Summer Walker Came to Chicago, But Her Record Label Drama Is Stealing the Show! Two More Albums, One EP, and $50 Million? Girl, WHAT?!

Summer Walker Came to Chicago, But Her Record Label Drama Is Stealing the Show! Two More Albums, One EP, and $50 Million? Girl, WHAT?!

The Reality Rundown | Entertainment News, Music & Celebrity Gossip

Summer Walker came through Chicago on Friday, October 16, 2026, for The Last Days of Summer in the Fall concert at Credit Union 1 Arena. But while fans were ready to sing along to their favorite heartbreak anthems, there's another situation happening behind the scenes that's giving us a whole different kind of heartbreak.

We're talking about record contracts, lawsuits, millions of dollars, and a singer who wants her freedom!

And when I tell you this situation is MESSY, I mean somebody needs to bring out the mop, the bucket, and a good entertainment attorney!

Chicago Got Summer Walker, But What Really Happened?

Summer Walker was scheduled to perform at Credit Union 1 Arena with special guests DaniLeigh and Zeddy Will as part of Power 92 Chicago's 25th anniversary celebration.

Now, Chicago loves good R&B music. We love somebody who can sing about heartbreak, relationships, and getting tired of somebody's nonsense.

But here's the thing: I haven't seen reliable confirmation of any major incident, cancellation, or walkout at the October 16 concert.

So I'm not about to sit here and invent some backstage argument just to make the story juicy.

The real drama appears to be happening in the courtroom!

Wait a Minute! Summer Walker Still Owes TWO Albums?

Now, this is where things get interesting.

According to Interscope Records, Summer Walker signed a recording agreement requiring five studio albums.

She has already released:

- Over It — 2019
- Still Over It — 2021
- Finally Over It — 2025

And according to the label's position, she still owes two studio albums and one EP.

EXCUSE ME?!

She already gave us Over It, Still Over It, and Finally Over It.

How many times does this woman have to be OVER IT before she's actually allowed to be over it?

At this point, the next album might as well be called I'm Really Over It, Now Leave Me Alone!

I'm just saying!

$50 Million? Now That's a Whole Different Kind of Heartbreak!

The dispute involves Summer Walker wanting to get out of her recording agreement.

She's arguing that California's seven-year rule gives her grounds to end the relationship.

But Interscope isn't exactly packing her bags and wishing her good luck.

The label is seeking the possibility of more than $50 million in damages if she leaves without fulfilling what it says are her remaining recording obligations.

FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS?!

That's not a little disagreement over who paid for dinner.

That's a whole financial nightmare!

And let's be clear: the $50 million is part of the label's legal position. It does not mean a judge has ordered Summer Walker to pay that amount.

And There's More Drama With LVRN!

As if one legal fight wasn't enough, Summer Walker has also brought allegations against her management company, LVRN.

The allegations involve financial misconduct and questions surrounding revenue and business expenses.

Now, those accusations still have to be proven.

But imagine trying to make music, perform for fans, protect your career, and deal with legal battles involving the people responsible for your business.

That's enough stress to make somebody write another heartbreak album without even being in a relationship!

My Review: Is Summer Walker Being Held Back or Just Expected to Honor Her Deal?

Here's where I have mixed feelings.

On one hand, I understand that record labels invest money into developing and promoting artists. Contracts are business agreements, and companies expect artists to fulfill their obligations.

But on the other hand, when somebody has been signed for years and wants to move forward with their career, shouldn't there be a reasonable way to negotiate an exit?

Summer Walker has already built a successful career with millions of fans listening to her music.

And let's not pretend artists haven't been fighting record companies over contracts for decades.

The music industry has a long history of complicated relationships between artists, labels, managers, and money.

My question is simple:

If Summer Walker records two more albums and one EP, will she finally be free, or will there be another disagreement waiting around the corner?

That depends on the actual contract and how this legal battle gets resolved.

And that's what makes this story so interesting.

Chicago, Let's Talk About It!

Summer Walker came to Chicago to entertain her fans, but her biggest performance right now might be happening in the legal system.

And while everybody is watching the headlines, I hope she can continue making the music that brought her fans together in the first place.

Because I don't want to hear about another talented artist spending years fighting over contracts instead of enjoying the career they worked so hard to build.

But I'm also not going to automatically declare either side right before the facts come out.

One thing is certain: this situation is far from a simple breakup!

Summer Walker might be finally over it, but apparently the record label isn't!

Your Turn! Let's Get Messy in the Comments!

1. Should Summer Walker finish the two albums and EP or fight to leave her contract?
2. Do you think $50 million is an outrageous amount for a record label to seek?
3. Were you at Summer Walker's October 16 Chicago concert? How was the performance?
4. Should artists have more freedom to leave record deals after seven years?
5. Would you listen to another Summer Walker album about this entire situation?

Love on Both Sides Season 1, Episodes 6–10: Are They Looking for Love or Fighting Over Social Media Drama?

Love on Both Sides Season 1, Episodes 6–10: Are They Looking for Love or Fighting Over Social Media Drama?

Now That's TV | Reality TV Review | The Reality Rundown

I just finished watching episodes 6 through 10 of Love on Both Sides, and I have one question: What in the world are these people fighting about?

Because from what I was watching, it sure didn't look like anybody was fighting for a relationship!

It seemed like the drama was coming from something that happened on social media. Instead of getting to know each other, building connections, and figuring out who was genuinely interested in whom, everybody seemed caught up in arguments, personal issues, and unfinished business.

And I'm sitting here trying to put the pieces together!

### The Fighting Wasn't Making Any Sense!

Let's talk about it.

When I watch a dating reality show, I expect some jealousy, disagreements, flirting, and maybe a little competition. That's part of reality television.

But these episodes felt like the dating part had taken a back seat to the fighting.

People were arguing, emotions were running high, and I kept wondering what any of this had to do with finding love.

Were they fighting over somebody they wanted to date, or were they settling scores from social media?

Because those are two completely different things!

### One Woman Wanted to Leave, but Tokyo Wanted Her to Stay?

Now, this situation really confused me.

One of the women apparently wanted to leave after fighting with another woman. From what I understood, she was ready to get out of there.

But Tokyo was trying to convince her to stay.

Hold on!

If somebody is upset enough to leave, why are we trying so hard to keep them in the middle of all this confusion?

Was Tokyo genuinely trying to help her? Was there more to the argument than viewers were seeing? Or was everybody just caught up in the drama?

I couldn't figure it out.

And that's the problem. The show had so much going on that I was struggling to understand what started the arguments in the first place.

### Episodes 6–10: Where Did the Love Go?

According to the official episode descriptions, episode 6, Undercover Lover, deals with drama involving Indian Giver and Sisqo and questions about who stirred up the trouble.

Episodes 7 and 8 move into cooking challenges, while episode 9, Pick Your Brain, focuses on Tokyo and Isaiah spending one-on-one time with contestants. Episode 10 was listed for October 18, 2026.

But even with the dating activities, my biggest complaint is that the fighting seems to overshadow everything else.

And don't get me wrong. I enjoy messy reality television. Give me some gossip, a little shade, and a good argument!

But at least explain why everybody is mad!

### My Final Review: Too Much Fighting, Not Enough Love!

At this point, Love on Both Sides feels more like a social media beef reunion than a dating competition.

I want to know who actually likes whom. Who is building a real connection? Who is there for television exposure? And why are people so determined to keep arguing?

My rating

### 5/10

Personal rating based on the confusion, fighting, and lack of visible romantic progress.

The drama is entertaining at times, but the storytelling needs to make more sense. I shouldn't have to become a private investigator just to understand why two people are arguing!

### Let's Talk About It!

Do you think the contestants are genuinely looking for love, or are they more interested in settling personal issues?

And was Tokyo right to try to convince that woman to stay when she wanted to leave?

Drop your opinions in the comments! Because after episodes 6 through 10, I'm still trying to figure out where the love is!

Used Books for Less Than $1 in Chicago: Where to Find Cheap and Free Books in 2026

Used Books for Less Than $1 in Chicago: Where to Find Cheap and Free Books in 2026
CHICAGO BOOK SHOPPING BLOG | OCTOBER 19, 2026

### Chicago, Are We Still Finding Books for 25 Cents and 50 Cents?

Chicago, let's talk about something that deserves more attention: used books for less than $1!

Everything seems to be getting more expensive these days. Groceries, transportation, rent, and even entertainment are taking more money out of our pockets.

But what if I told you that you don't always have to spend $15 or $25 to enjoy a good book?

Chicago has bookstores, nonprofit organizations, and library sales where readers can discover affordable books, sometimes for less than a dollar or even free.

And here's the best part: You don't have to be rich to build your own personal library!

Let's look at some places worth checking out, including their addresses, what they offer, and whether they're worth visiting.

## 1. Books4Cause — Avondale Free Bookstore

**Address:** 2931 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL 60618

**Hours:** Monday–Friday, noon–6 PM; Saturday–Sunday, 10 AM–5 PM

**Price: FREE!**

Now, Chicago, this is what I'm talking about!

Books4Cause operates a bookstore where people can browse and take home books without spending a dime.

No membership fees, no expensive subscriptions, and no pressure to spend money.

You can discover fiction, biographies, history books, and other interesting titles.

The organization reports giving away more than 220,000 books through its Chicago free bookstores since 2020.

**My review:** This is one of the strongest options for readers with absolutely no book budget. The inventory changes because books are donated, so you never know what you might discover.

## 2. Books4Cause — Uptown Free Bookstore

**Address:** 1226 W. Wilson Avenue, Chicago, IL 60640

**Hours:** Monday–Friday, noon–6 PM; Saturday–Sunday, 10 AM–5 PM

**Price: FREE!**

Wait a minute! Chicago has another free bookstore?

Yes, indeed!

Books4Cause also operates an Uptown location, giving residents another opportunity to find books without paying.

If you love browsing different subjects and discovering unexpected titles, this is worth checking out.

Imagine walking into a bookstore with just a few dollars in your pocket and realizing you don't even have to spend them!

**My review:** Another excellent option for people who want to read more while spending less. Bring a bag, browse the shelves, and be considerate of other readers.

## 3. Open Books Pilsen — Pay What You Want!

**Address:** 905 W. 19th Street, Chicago, IL 60608

**Hours:** Tuesday–Saturday, 11 AM–6 PM

**Price: Pay what you want for adult books; books for younger readers are free.**

Chicago, now this is an interesting concept!

Instead of placing a traditional price on every adult book, Open Books Pilsen allows shoppers to decide what they can pay.

That means someone shopping with a budget of less than $1 has an opportunity to participate.

The bookstore features donated books covering different genres and subjects.

And here's another reason to support the organization: Open Books uses its work to promote literacy throughout Chicago.

**My review:** For anyone trying to stretch a small budget, this is one of the most appealing book-shopping options in the city. I especially appreciate that the organization recognizes that people have different financial circumstances.

## 4. Powell's Books Chicago — Hyde Park

**Address:** 1501 E. 57th Street, Chicago, IL 60637

**Phone:** (773) 955-7780

**Price: Discounted used books; prices vary.**

South Side readers, here's a bookstore worth knowing about!

Powell's Books has been part of Hyde Park's book-shopping community for decades.

The store specializes in used books, bargain titles, rare books, and out-of-print editions.

You can explore subjects such as history, literature, philosophy, poetry, music, and much more.

However, let's make one thing clear: Powell's does not guarantee books for less than $1.

**My review:** This is a good destination for serious book lovers, especially readers looking for older or unusual titles. But if you have only 50 cents to spend, the free bookstores and Open Books Pilsen are better starting points.

## 5. Chicago Library Book Sales — Look for 25-Cent and 50-Cent Bargains

**Locations:** Various Chicago libraries and neighborhood fundraising events.

**Price:** Varies by event.

Don't overlook library book sales!

Some library fundraising events offer inexpensive used books, and certain sales around the Chicago area have advertised prices as low as 25 cents or 50 cents.

But these prices are not guaranteed at every Chicago library.

Check with your neighborhood library or its Friends of the Library organization to learn about upcoming sales.

**My review:** Library sales can be wonderful for bargain hunters. The biggest challenge is finding the right sale at the right time.

## Why Buying Used Books Makes Sense in 2026

Let's discuss something important.

Why should somebody have to spend $20 on a book when they might find an enjoyable used copy for $1 or less?

Buying used books offers several advantages:

- You can save money while building a personal library.
- You can discover older books that aren't always available in regular stores.
- You can explore different authors without spending a fortune.
- You can support literacy organizations and neighborhood businesses.
- You can give previously owned books another opportunity to be enjoyed.

And let's not forget that reading can provide hours of entertainment without another monthly streaming subscription!

## My Overall Review: Chicago Needs More Affordable Books!

I believe affordable reading opportunities are extremely important, especially for people living on fixed incomes.

Not everybody has $20 or $30 to spend on books.

Some people are retired. Others are students, unemployed, or simply trying to make their money last until the next payday.

That doesn't mean they should have fewer opportunities to enjoy reading.

What impresses me most about Books4Cause and Open Books Pilsen is that they make books accessible without requiring everyone to pay traditional retail prices.

For shoppers specifically looking for books under $1, I would recommend starting with Books4Cause or Open Books Pilsen.

## Final Thoughts: Chicago, Would You Buy a Book for 25 Cents?

Here's my question.

If you walked into a bookstore and saw a table full of used books for 25 cents each, how many would you purchase?

Four books for $1?

Eight books for $2?

Or would you walk out with an entire bag?

Chicago has opportunities to enjoy reading without spending a fortune. You just need to know where to look.

**Now I want to hear from you!**

Have you visited Books4Cause, Open Books Pilsen, or Powell's Books?

Do you know another Chicago bookstore offering books for 25 cents, 50 cents, or less than $1?

**Drop the bookstore name, address, and prices in the comments! Let's help Chicago readers find the best book bargains in 2026!**

*Because reading should be affordable for everybody.*

**Keywords:** Chicago used bookstores 2026, books under $1 Chicago, free books Chicago, Books4Cause Chicago, Open Books Pilsen, cheap books Chicago, Powell's Books Hyde Park, 25-cent books, 50-cent books, Chicago library book sales.

The addresses and pricing policies above were checked against the organizations' published information. Specific titles and stock change regularly, and hours should be confirmed before visiting.

Thelma Houston Is Finally Telling Her Story! Motown, Disco, Diana Ross, and the Secrets Behind the Music!

Thelma Houston Is Finally Telling Her Story! Motown, Disco, Diana Ross, and the Secrets Behind the Music!
**Thelma Houston has a story to tell, and after decades in the music business, she's ready to put it all in a book!**

Now, music lovers, pull up a chair because we're talking about a woman who gave us one of the biggest disco anthems of all time, *Don't Leave Me This Way*. But there's a whole lot more to Thelma Houston than one Grammy-winning hit.

Her upcoming memoir, *Don't Leave Me This Way: The Memoir of a Motown Legend*, is expected to arrive in April 2027. And if you love old-school R&B, Motown history, and behind-the-scenes entertainment stories, this might be one to put on your reading list.

## From Gospel to Motown: Thelma Houston's Journey

Before the disco lights, fancy gowns, and screaming audiences, Thelma Houston was a young woman with a powerful voice and a dream.

Born in Mississippi and raised in California, Houston began her musical journey singing gospel before making her way into the recording industry.

She eventually became part of the Motown family, where she developed her career during an era when Black music was changing the world.

But here's my question: **Did Motown really know what to do with Thelma Houston's incredible voice?**

Because when you listen to that woman sing, you hear gospel, soul, emotion, and enough vocal power to shake the building!

## Let's Talk About Diana Ross and Motown!

Now, you know we cannot discuss Motown without bringing up Diana Ross.

Houston's memoir is expected to revisit her experiences in the music industry, including connections with major entertainers.

And naturally, fans are going to be interested in what she remembers about Motown's biggest stars.

Diana Ross was one of the label's most recognizable performers, but Motown had plenty of other talented women trying to establish their own identities.

Was there enough room for everybody to shine? Did some singers receive more attention and better opportunities than others?

Those are questions I hope Houston explores.

I'm not saying there was drama between Thelma and Diana. But I would love to hear Houston's perspective on how Motown operated behind the scenes.

Because sometimes the most interesting stories aren't about arguments. They're about business decisions, missed opportunities, and the songs that changed people's careers.

## Don't Leave Me This Way: The Song That Changed Everything

Let's get into the music!

In 1976, Thelma Houston recorded *Don't Leave Me This Way*, a song originally recorded by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes.

Her version became a massive disco hit, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1977.

And that voice? Powerful!

Houston won the Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for the recording.

But here's something worth discussing.

**What happens when an artist becomes so closely associated with one enormous hit that people overlook the rest of their career?**

Houston has recorded other music, performed for decades, and remained active in entertainment.

Yet many people still introduce her as the woman who sang *Don't Leave Me This Way*.

That's a blessing because the song became a classic, but I imagine it can also be frustrating when an artist has so much more to offer.

I hope her memoir addresses that experience.

## The Personal Side of Thelma Houston

One of the most interesting parts of any celebrity memoir is discovering the person behind the performer.

Houston's book is expected to explore her family life, relationships, childhood, and experiences navigating the entertainment business.

And let's be clear: being a successful singer doesn't mean life is always glamorous.

There are disappointments, difficult decisions, relationships, financial pressures, and personal sacrifices.

Sometimes audiences only see the applause. They don't see what happens when the stage lights go off.

After decades in the business, Houston has lived through several generations of music, from gospel and soul to disco and beyond.

That kind of experience deserves to be documented.

## My Review: Is This Memoir Worth Reading?

Since the book hasn't been released yet, this is a preview rather than a review of the finished memoir.

But based on Houston's remarkable career and the subjects the book is expected to explore, I'm interested.

What I want is more than a collection of celebrity names and career highlights.

I want the stories behind the recording sessions. I want to know how she handled rejection, what she learned about the business, and whether she ever felt underestimated.

And yes, I want to hear about Motown!

Not just the glamorous version, either. Give us the contracts, the competition, the decisions, and the lessons.

Houston has earned the right to tell her story in her own words.

## Final Thoughts: It's About Time!

Thelma Houston is a Grammy-winning vocalist, a disco legend, and a performer whose music continues to reach new generations.

Her memoir could introduce younger readers to an important chapter in Black music history while giving longtime fans a deeper understanding of the woman behind the microphone.

And I have one thing to say: **Thelma, tell your story!**

You've spent decades singing songs that touched other people's lives. Now it's time for people to hear about yours.

*Don't Leave Me This Way: The Memoir of a Motown Legend* is scheduled for release in April 2027.

### Let's Talk in the Comments!

- Are you planning to read Thelma Houston's memoir?
- Do you think Motown gave Thelma the recognition she deserved?
- Would you like to hear her stories about Diana Ross and other Motown performers?
- Do you think *Don't Leave Me This Way* overshadowed her other recordings?
- Which other Motown legend should write a tell-all memoir?

**Drop your opinions in the comments, share this post with an old-school music lover, and let's keep the conversation going!**

*Disclaimer: This article is a preview and commentary on an upcoming memoir, not a review of an advance reading copy.*

Love on Both Sides on Now That's TV: Isaiah and Tokyo, Are Y'all Looking for Love or Just Looking for a Fight?

Love on Both Sides on Now That's TV: Isaiah and Tokyo, Are Y'all Looking for Love or Just Looking for a Fight?
Reality TV Review | October 19, 2026

Somebody needs to explain what is going on with Love on Both Sides because I'm confused!

I thought we were watching a dating show where people were supposed to find love, build connections, and maybe walk away with somebody special. But apparently, somebody forgot to tell the cast!

Between Isaiah, Tokyo, the arguments, the attitudes, and everybody trying to prove who's the toughest, I'm starting to wonder if anybody actually came to find love.

Because right now, it's giving more fighting than flirting!

### Isaiah and Tokyo: What's Really Going On?

Let's talk about Isaiah and Tokyo.

The drama surrounding these two has become one of my biggest frustrations with the show. Instead of watching people get to know each other, we're spending too much time watching confrontations, listening to arguments, and trying to figure out what everybody is upset about.

And Tokyo? I have questions!

One minute, there's an attitude. The next minute, there's another disagreement. I'm sitting here wondering whether we're watching a dating competition or somebody's personal reality TV audition.

And Isaiah, what exactly are we accomplishing with all this drama?

At some point, somebody needs to remember the assignment.

The assignment was LOVE, not a championship fight!

### Everybody's Fighting, but Where Are the Connections?

Here's my biggest problem with Love on Both Sides.

Where are the actual romantic connections?

Where are the meaningful conversations? Where are the dates? Where are the people genuinely trying to learn something about each other?

Instead, we're watching people argue about things that don't even seem connected to finding a relationship.

And don't get me started on people fighting when they're not even pursuing the same person!

Make that make sense!

You can't convince me you're serious about finding love when every other conversation turns into an argument.

### Tokyo, Are You Here for Love or Camera Time?

Now, Tokyo certainly knows how to get people talking.

But being entertaining and being ready for a relationship are two completely different things.

From what I've watched, the drama is overshadowing everything else. I want to see some vulnerability, some chemistry, and maybe somebody admitting they actually like another person.

Is that too much to ask?

Because all this arguing is getting exhausting.

And somebody needs to tell the cast that being the loudest person in the room doesn't automatically make you the star of the show.

Sometimes it just makes everybody else want to leave the room!

### Latest Update: Nine Episodes and Still Looking for Love!

According to the official Now That's TV episode listings, Love on Both Sides has nine episodes listed.

And look at some of these episode titles:

* Episode 2: Fighting for Love

* Episode 4: Fake Love

* Episode 5: What You Here For

* Episode 7: Cooking for Love

* Episode 9: Pick Your Brain

In Episode 5, Isaiah's drama with 2Faced continues, and the cast participates in an MMA challenge. By Episode 9, Tokyo and Isaiah are finally getting more one-on-one time with contestants to explore whether real connections exist.

Wait a minute! We had to get through all that chaos just to have some conversations?

I understand that Now That's TV is known for drama, but this is supposed to be a dating show!

### My Final Review: Love on Both Sides Needs More Love!

I'm not saying the show needs to be boring. Give me some gossip, jealousy, awkward dates, romantic competition, and even a little shade.

But there's a difference between entertaining drama and watching people argue endlessly without moving the dating process forward.

Isaiah and Tokyo need to take control of their dating journeys because right now, the fighting is getting more attention than the romance.

And if nobody finds love by the finale, what exactly did we spend all these episodes watching?

My question is simple: Did they come looking for love, or did they come looking for their next reality TV moment?

### Let's Talk About It!

I want to hear from everybody watching Love on Both Sides on Now That's TV.

Do you think Isaiah and Tokyo are genuinely trying to find love? Are the contestants there for relationships or television exposure? And most importantly, are you enjoying the show, or has all the fighting become too much?

Watch the series on [Now That's TV](https://nowthatstvplus.com/programs/love-on-both-sides?category_id=298008&utm_source=chatgpt.com).

Ready to Love Chicago Season 12: Is This Show Moving Too Fast? Where Is the Romance, and Why Is Everybody Going Home?

Ready to Love Chicago Season 12: Is This Show Moving Too Fast? Where Is the Romance, and Why Is Everybody Going Home?
THE REALITY RUNDOWN | October 17, 2026 | Reality TV Review & Gossip

Chicago, we need to talk!

Now, I have been watching Ready to Love Season 12, and I have one serious question: Are these people looking for love, or are they trying to catch the last CTA bus before service ends?

Because this season is moving FAST!

We are only three episodes into the Chicago season, and I already feel like production is trying to wrap things up before Thanksgiving.

Where is the romance? Where are the meaningful conversations? Where are the dates that make us believe two people might actually fall in love?

Everybody is getting dressed, showing up, having a conversation, and before you know it, Nephew Tommy is calling somebody over for an elimination.

Excuse me! Can we get through the appetizers first?

### How Many Men and Women Are Left?

Here is what we can establish from the early episodes.

The season started with 20 singles, and the premiere sent three people home: Jasmine, Jarrette, and Champ. That left 17 contestants after Episode 1.

Starting cast

### 20

After premiere

### 17

After Episode 1: 9 women and 8 men, assuming the original even split of 10 each.

The exact number of men and women remaining after Episode 3, aired October 16, has not been independently verified from the available recaps.

Now, that is what I call a quick exit!

Some of these contestants barely had time to remember everybody's names before they were being told their journey was over.

And don't get me started on Jarrette. We remember him from Love Is Blind, and he barely got a chance to establish a connection before getting sent home.

Apparently, being funny wasn't enough. The ladies wanted deeper conversations. Fair enough, but how deep can you go when you've barely met somebody?

### Episode 3: Chicago, Are We Dating or Auditioning?

Episode 3, Stepping Into Your Chicago, aired October 16. The women took control of the dating process, inviting the men into their worlds through activities including roller skating, wine tasting, and game shows.

Now, I like that concept!

Let me see how somebody acts when they're outside their comfort zone. Let me see how they communicate, laugh, and handle a little competition.

But there is a difference between getting to know somebody and putting on a performance.

And speaking of performances, we have to discuss Keith.

Keith has been getting attention for his outfits, including a chef-inspired look at a group date. His wardrobe and approach to dating have already inspired commentary about whether he is pursuing romance or camera time.

Now, I love a man with personality. But sir, are we cooking dinner, serving pancakes, or building a romantic connection?

Because if somebody arrives dressed like a chef, I expect a five-course meal and a reservation!

Chicago, we have enough restaurants for everybody to go on an actual dinner date.

### Eight People Gone Already? Chicago, What Is Going On?

Here is an even bigger update: in a discussion following Episode 3, viewers reported that eight contestants had already been eliminated, leaving 12 of the original 20. Other viewers specifically discussed two men leaving in Episode 3. That total is based on viewer reports rather than a verified official cast tally.

If those reports are accurate, 40% of the original cast is already gone.

Now, excuse me, but how are we supposed to get invested in these relationships when the cast is disappearing faster than available seats on the CTA during rush hour?

At this rate, we're going to have a reunion before we get a decent romance!

### Is Ready to Love Becoming Ready to Eliminate?

This is my biggest criticism of Season 12.

I understand the format. Everybody cannot stay. Some people have no chemistry. Some people are there for television exposure. And some people probably need to work on themselves before entering another relationship.

But where is the balance?

The problem is that the elimination process sometimes feels more important than the dating process.

I want to see the contestants having real conversations about their past relationships, expectations, finances, communication, and what they actually want in a partner.

Instead, I sometimes feel like I am watching a weekly job interview.

"Tell me about yourself."

"What are your strengths?"

"What are your weaknesses?"

"Unfortunately, we've decided to move forward with another candidate."

Sir, this is a dating show, not a human resources department!

### Nephew Tommy, Can We Slow This Bus Down?

Now, I enjoy Nephew Tommy. He knows how to keep things moving.

But this season feels like he's driving the number 79 bus down 79th Street, trying to make up lost time.

Everybody better have their fare ready because he is not waiting!

And I am not saying the show should keep contestants who have absolutely no romantic possibilities.

What I am saying is that viewers need time to become invested in the people.

Give us the awkward first dates. Give us the surprising chemistry. Give us the moments when two people discover they have something meaningful in common.

That's what makes the drama matter.

### Episode 4 Is Bringing the Exes? Already?

And here comes another twist.

Episode 4, Exes and Ohs, scheduled for October 23, will bring former partners into the dating process for a mixer involving jealousy, uncomfortable truths, and another elimination.

Wait a minute!

We barely know the current romantic interests, and now we're meeting their exes?

Production said forget the slow burn. We're going straight to the relationship investigation!

I can already imagine somebody sitting there with a glass of wine, pretending everything is fine while their ex tells a completely different story.

Now THAT might be some good television.

But once again, I hope the drama doesn't overshadow the actual purpose of the show.

### My Final Review: Chicago Deserves Better Pacing

I am enjoying parts of Ready to Love Chicago. The city brings personality, the contestants have interesting backgrounds, and some of the dates have been entertaining.

But I agree with the criticism that the season feels rushed.

I want romance with my reality television. I want laughter, messy conversations, a little shade, and maybe somebody falling in love.

I don't want to spend every Friday watching people get eliminated before I can remember their names.

My rating so far: 3 out of 5 stars.

There is still time for this season to improve, especially if the remaining contestants develop stronger connections.

But production needs to give the relationships room to breathe.

Chicago has plenty of places to date, plenty of interesting people, and plenty of opportunities for romance.

Let's see some of it!

Ready to Love Chicago Season 12: Love, Lies, Pancakes, and Dating Drama! Chicago, We Need to Talk!

The Reality Rundown | Season 12, Episodes 1–3 | October 2026

Chicago, what is going on with these singles? Because three episodes into Ready to Love Chicago, I'm starting to wonder if everybody came looking for a relationship or if some folks just wanted a television appearance and a cute outfit!

OWN Network brought Ready to Love to the Windy City, and Nephew Tommy has his hands full. We've got attractive singles, interesting personalities, unusual dating decisions, and enough questionable romantic behavior to keep the group chat busy.

And since I'm from Chicago, I'm watching a little differently. Don't come on national television representing the city and have us looking confused!

Let's get into this dating mess!

Episode 1: Everybody Looks Good, But Who Is Actually Ready?

The season opened with 20 singles arriving at a speakeasy mixer, dressed to impress and ready to make their first connections.

Everybody was smiling, introducing themselves, and trying to make that unforgettable first impression.

But you know how these dating shows work.

Everybody walks through the door talking about how they're ready for love. They want commitment, communication, honesty, and somebody who understands them.

Then the dating starts, and suddenly nobody knows what they want!

Some singles made immediate connections, while others struggled to stand out. Before the first night was over, six people were already facing possible elimination.

Now that's pressure!

Imagine spending hours getting your outfit together, smelling good, rehearsing your introduction, and then somebody tells you that you might be going home before you've even memorized everybody's name.

Chicago, that's not a dating experience. That's a job interview with cocktails!

But here's my issue with dating shows: looking attractive doesn't automatically mean somebody is emotionally available.

You can have the clothes, the career, the beautiful smile, and the expensive fragrance. But can you communicate? Can you compromise? Can you handle somebody disagreeing with you?

Because that's where the real relationships begin.

Episode 2: Feet Washing, Religion, and Pizza With a Fork!

Now this is where the season started giving us something to discuss!

First, let's talk about Marcus washing Ashley's feet.

Excuse me?

We're already bringing out the water and doing foot treatments?

Now, some people might see that as a beautiful gesture of service and affection. Others might think it's a little much for people who are still getting acquainted.

I'm not saying the gesture was wrong. I'm saying I would need to know somebody a little better before we started turning date night into a spa appointment!

Then we had conversations involving religion and intimacy, including Sleeves sharing his views.

And this is exactly why these conversations matter.

Two people can find each other physically attractive and still have completely different beliefs about relationships.

You can like somebody's smile, personality, and conversation, but when the serious questions come up, that's when compatibility gets tested.

And then we had Michael eating pizza with a fork!

Sir!

We are in Chicago!

Now, technically, you can eat your pizza however you want. But you know people are going to have opinions about that.

Depending on the pizza, a fork might actually be necessary. But the fact that something so simple became a conversation tells you how closely everybody is watching these dates.

And let's not forget the secret sibling connection that was revealed.

Because apparently finding love wasn't enough. We needed a family twist too!

This episode reminded me that the smallest things can become major talking points when you're dating on television.

Episode 3: Chicago Dating, Group Activities, and Pancake Conversations!

Now we're getting somewhere!

The October 16 episode put the women in control of the dating experience, with Nephew Tommy encouraging them to show the men their versions of Chicago.

We got activities including roller skating, wine tasting, and game shows.

I actually like this idea.

Instead of sitting across from somebody at dinner asking the same questions everybody asks, why not do something that reveals personality?

Take somebody roller skating and see how they handle themselves.

Are they laughing? Are they helping? Are they getting frustrated because they can't stay on their feet?

Sometimes you learn more about somebody in 20 minutes of activity than you do during two hours of dinner conversation.

And speaking of dinner, let's discuss this chef outfit and pancakes situation!

A man coming dressed like a chef and bringing pancakes to a dinner party?

Now wait a minute!

I appreciate creativity. I appreciate somebody making an effort. And I certainly appreciate food.

But pancakes?

For a dinner party?

Was this breakfast for dinner? Was there a theme? Were we supposed to be impressed by the presentation?

Because I'm trying to understand the vision!

And before anybody gets upset, I'm not saying pancakes are bad. I love a good creative food idea.

But when you're trying to make a romantic impression, you have to think about your audience.

What one person considers thoughtful, somebody else might consider strange.

And that's the entire point of dating. You have to find somebody who appreciates your personality instead of constantly trying to impress people who aren't compatible with you.

Let's Talk About the Men and Women

One thing I appreciate about Ready to Love is that both the men and women have opportunities to make decisions.

But having the power to eliminate somebody doesn't necessarily mean you're making the right romantic choices.

Sometimes people overlook someone who could be a great partner because they don't feel an immediate spark.

Other times, they become fascinated with the most attractive person in the room and ignore every warning sign.

And I'm sitting here watching, thinking:

You said you wanted a serious relationship. Why are you making decisions like you're shopping for a weekend date?

Let's be serious!

There's nothing wrong with attraction. It matters.

But attraction without communication, respect, and compatibility isn't enough.

And another thing: stop confusing somebody being quiet with somebody being boring.

Some people take time to open up.

Everybody isn't going to walk into a room performing like they're auditioning for a reality show.

Give people a chance!

Chicago, Where Is the Real Romance?

Here's something else I want to discuss.

Chicago is a beautiful city with restaurants, museums, lakefront attractions, neighborhood festivals, theaters, and plenty of places to enjoy a date.

So I love seeing the city featured on television.

But I also want these singles to show viewers what dating in Chicago can really look like.

Take somebody somewhere meaningful.

Show them your favorite neighborhood.

Introduce them to an activity you genuinely enjoy.

You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars to have a memorable date.

Sometimes a walk along the lakefront and a good conversation can tell you more about somebody than an expensive dinner where both people are pretending to be perfect.

And please, let's stop acting like every date needs to look like a music video.

Real relationships happen in real life.

You need to know how somebody behaves when the cameras aren't rolling, the lighting isn't perfect, and nobody is serving cocktails.

My Biggest Problem With Reality TV Dating

Now here comes my little shady moment.

Some people say they want love, but what they really seem to want is attention.

They want somebody chasing them.

They want multiple people interested in them.

They want to feel like the most desirable person in the room.

But when somebody starts asking serious questions about commitment, suddenly things become complicated.

What happened to being ready?

You were ready when you walked through the door!

Now, I'm not accusing any particular cast member of having bad intentions. We're only three episodes into the season, and television editing doesn't show us everything.

But these are the questions I'm asking as a viewer.

Are people choosing partners based on genuine compatibility?

Or are they choosing whoever gives them the most excitement in the moment?

Because excitement is wonderful, but it doesn't always last.

And if you're truly looking for a long-term relationship, you need more than butterflies.

You need somebody who will answer the telephone, communicate clearly, keep their promises, and show up when life gets difficult.

That's what being ready for love should mean.

My Review: Is Season 12 Worth Watching?

So far, I'm enjoying the Chicago season because the format gives viewers plenty to discuss.

The opening mixer introduced the personalities, the second episode gave us unusual dating moments, and the third episode allowed the women to take control of their dating experiences.

I especially enjoy seeing different approaches to romance.

Some people prefer traditional dates. Others appreciate unusual gestures or adventurous activities.

That's what makes the show interesting.

But I want more meaningful conversations as the season continues.

I want to hear about past relationship experiences, expectations, communication styles, and what these singles have learned about themselves.

And of course, I want a little drama!

Not manufactured screaming and arguments just for television, but the kind of unexpected relationship drama that makes you rewind the episode and say, "Wait, did that person really just say that?"

Because that's good reality television!

Final Thoughts: Chicago, Don't Embarrass Us!

Three episodes into Ready to Love Chicago, we've already had interesting first impressions, a foot-washing moment, a family surprise, religious discussions, pizza debates, and unusual dating activities.

And we're just getting started!

The big question is whether these singles will move beyond physical attraction and actually develop meaningful relationships.

Because you can dress up, go on beautiful dates, and say all the right things, but none of that guarantees a lasting connection.

Chicago has given this season personality, and now I'm waiting to see who can deliver genuine romance.

And please, somebody explain the pancakes!

Because I'm still thinking about that dinner party!

Let's Get Messy in the Comments!

Now I want to hear from YOU!

1. Are you enjoying Ready to Love Chicago Season 12 so far?

2. Would you be impressed if a man came to a dinner party dressed like a chef and brought pancakes?

3. Was Marcus washing Ashley's feet romantic or too much too soon?

4. Which Chicago single is your favorite, and who is giving you red flags?

5. Do you believe these singles are genuinely ready for love, or are some just enjoying the television cameras?
