Bad Reviews & 99-Cent Riches: A Laugh from the Author’s Corner
Well, it finally happened—I got a bad review on my eBook. And not just any bad review, but one that called it “over the top gossip.” 😂 First of all… THANK YOU. I didn’t realize I was serving drama with a side of popcorn, but now that I know, maybe I should lean in!
I mean, how can writing even be “over the top”? Is it the drama? The flair? The part where I dared to add a little spice to life? If you wanted plain toast, this ain’t that book. This is hot sauce on everything type writing!
My mom always told me, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Wise words, but hey—reviews are part of the game. And believe me, I’m not mad. I'm honestly amused. I’m also officially rich now: I sold three copies at $0.99 each. That’s $2.97 in the bank, baby! 💰 Early retirement? Maybe not. But coffee? Absolutely.
Truth is, I wrote that book from a place of joy, sarcasm, and unapologetic boldness. It’s not for everyone, and that’s okay. If it made you roll your eyes or laugh or shake your head in disbelief, then it did something. That’s better than boring.
So to my lovely reviewer—thank you for reading. And to everyone else: if you like your stories a little extra, a little wild, and a little loud, you might just love it.
