Deb’s House: When R&B Shows Up Without Voices
Let’s keep it real: Deb’s House promised us R&B, but what we’re getting sometimes feels like karaoke night after two-for-one margaritas. Where are the voices? Where’s the soul? Half the time it feels like the ladies are humming over beats instead of delivering the powerhouse vocals we tuned in for.
Kim and Amber are holding it down—but the rest? Whew. Instead of giving us real R&B, it’s giving “I found this track on SoundCloud and decided to freestyle”. And don’t get me wrong, the personalities are cute, the shade is funny, but when you advertise yourself as an R&B house, we expect R&B vocals. Not vibes, not half-sung verses—vocals.
And let’s be honest: Deb should’ve taken this project straight to YouTube or even TikTok. Imagine the weekly clips of each lady battling it out vocally, duet-style, with fans voting in real time. TikTok is where viral moments are born, and YouTube is where the real music shows live. Instead, we’re stuck watching a “music” show where the music part feels like background noise.
This show had the potential to be a digital hit. R&B fans would’ve eaten up live performances, reaction videos, and viral challenges. Instead, we’re side-eyeing performances like, “Is this rehearsal or is this the show?”
At the end of the day, R&B without the voices is like a cookout with no potato salad—you already know it’s missing the main ingredient.
Question for y’all: Do you think Deb’s House should take it to YouTube/TikTok and actually let the ladies prove they can sing, or is this just another reality show pretending to be about music? Drop your thoughts below!
