Is Hailey Glassman Real Housewives Material? YES—She Brings It! 🍎 #RHONY

Let me just say it: YES! Hailey Glassman is Real Housewives material.

When I watch The Real Housewives of New York City, I don't want everybody sitting around drinking champagne, smiling at each other, and pretending everything is perfect. I need personalities. I need somebody willing to speak up. I need somebody who can stir the pot and then sit at the table when everybody starts asking, “Who stirred this mess?”

And from what we've seen from Hailey, she brings it.

Hailey Isn't Afraid to Speak Her Mind

One thing a successful Housewife needs is a voice.

You cannot come on RHONY scared of everybody.

You can't spend the entire season whispering your opinions in confessionals and then suddenly become brave at the reunion. We need you to say it while everybody is sitting at the table!

That's where Hailey catches my attention. She has the kind of personality that can get people talking.

And isn't that what reality television needs?

Give me somebody who isn't afraid to say, “That's not what happened.”

Give me somebody who asks the uncomfortable question.

Give me somebody who doesn't automatically back down because the rest of the group disagrees.

That's television!

RHONY Needs Women Who Actually Bring Something

One of the biggest problems any reality show can have is casting people who look good on paper but don't give us anything once the cameras start rolling.

You can have the apartment.

You can have the clothes.

You can have the connections.

You can have the fabulous restaurants and invitations.

But baby, where is the personality?

RHONY has always worked best when the women have strong opinions, complicated friendships, disagreements, humor, and enough personality to keep us discussing the episode after the credits roll.

Hailey has the potential to do exactly that.

She Doesn't Have to Be Perfect

And please don't misunderstand me.

I'm not saying Hailey has to be right about everything.

Actually, I don't WANT a Housewife who is right about everything.

Where is the fun in that?

Part of watching Housewives is yelling at the television:

“Why would you say that?!”

Then five minutes later you're saying:

“Wait a minute…she might have a point.”

That's the roller coaster.

A good Housewife can have you defending her on Tuesday and questioning everything she's doing by Wednesday.

If Hailey can keep delivering those kinds of moments, hand that woman an apple. 🍎

Can She Handle the Heat?

Now here's the real test.

Anybody can create drama.

But can you handle the drama coming back at you?

That's what separates somebody who makes an interesting guest appearance from somebody who can actually survive an entire season of RHONY.

If you throw shade, somebody is eventually throwing it back.

If you expose somebody else's business, don't act shocked when your business becomes the topic at dinner.

And if you start an argument at 7:15, you better still be ready to discuss it at 11:30 when everybody has had three drinks and somebody's wig is leaning sideways.

That's Housewives!

Hailey seems capable of standing in the middle of the mess instead of running away from it.

Don't Give Me Manufactured Drama

Here's the one thing I DON'T want.

Don't come on television trying too hard.

Reality-TV fans can smell manufactured drama from three boroughs away.

Don't start fighting over something ridiculous just because you think you need a viral moment.

Don't rehearse reads in the mirror all afternoon and then wait for somebody to say the magic word so you can deliver your speech.

Just be yourself.

If Hailey's natural personality is already outspoken and unpredictable, that's enough.

The cameras will find the drama.

RHONY Needs Conversation Starters

After every episode, I want to go online and see people arguing:

“Hailey was right!”

“No she wasn't!”

“Did you hear what Hailey said?”

“Why did Hailey bring THAT up?”

“Did you see everybody's face when she walked into the room?”

That's how you know somebody is contributing to the show.

Being liked isn't the only measurement of a good reality-TV personality.

Sometimes the cast member driving the most conversation is the person half the audience can't stand!

Give Her the Apple 🍎

So, do I think Hailey Glassman is Real Housewives material?

YES.

From what I've seen, she brings personality, conversation and the possibility of some serious New York drama.

Now I want to see more.

I want the dinners.

I want the cast trips.

I want the confessionals.

I want the arguments.

I want the reconciliation that lasts approximately 48 hours before somebody brings the argument up again.

And most importantly, I want to see whether Hailey can keep bringing it when the spotlight gets brighter.

Because getting into the RHONY world is one thing.

Surviving it is another.

But right now?

I'm interested.

Give Hailey an apple and let's see what she does with it. 🍎
