Rewatching Rich Kids of Beverly Hills Season 1, Episode 1: Shady, Bougie, and Still a Hot Mess

Rewatching Rich Kids of Beverly Hills Season 1, Episode 1: Shady, Bougie, and Still a Hot Mess

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched Rich Kids of Beverly Hills season one at this point—honestly, it’s probably too many. But every time, I still find myself cackling, rolling my eyes, and low-key wishing I had rich parents to fund my messiness. Let’s get into episode one and why Dorothy, EJ Johnson, and Jonny continue to be my favorites.

Dorothy Wang: Queen of Side-Eye

Dorothy came out the gate ready to serve shade like it was on sale. From her confessionals to her “I’m rich and I know it” energy, she carried the show. Watching her deliver those lines with zero hesitation? Iconic. She was messy, funny, and unapologetic—exactly what reality TV needs.

EJ Johnson: Effortlessly Fabulous

Let’s be real—EJ’s fashion alone deserved its own spinoff. He walked into episode one like Beverly Hills royalty, serving looks while everyone else tried to keep up. His confidence was unmatched, and every scene he was in elevated the drama and the style.

Jonny Drubel: The Commentary King

Jonny was that friend who always had a shady one-liner locked and loaded. He wasn’t just along for the ride—he gave us the commentary we needed to truly understand how ridiculous (and fabulous) this group was. Without him, the chaos wouldn’t have felt complete.

What Did I Learn?

Honestly? Nothing. Except maybe that my life would be way easier if I had parents wiring me money instead of worrying about bills and budgets. The biggest lesson from episode one is this: being rich means even your drama looks good in high definition.

Final Thoughts

Rewatching this episode feels like stepping back into a time when reality TV was loud, flashy, and unfiltered. Dorothy’s shade, EJ’s glam, Jonny’s quips—it’s messy perfection. And while I may not have rich parents, at least I can keep rewatching this show for free.
